Transforming Connectivity: The New Jala-Puerto Vallarta Highway
In a landmark event, Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum inaugurated the final stretch of the Jala-Puerto Vallarta highway, connecting Bucerías to Puerto Vallarta. This ambitious infrastructure project represents an investment of 2.024 billion pesos and has revolutionized travel times. For residents and visitors alike, the journey from Guadalajara to Puerto Vallarta is now a breezy 2.5 hours instead of five. Similarly, travel between Tepic and the southern coasts of Nayarit and Jalisco has been reduced from 3.5 hours to just 1.5 hours.
Prioritizing Regional Development
During the inaugural event, President Sheinbaum unveiled a series of priority projects slated for Nayarit in 2025. Among the highlights is the construction of the Amado Nervo Bridge, which will seamlessly link Bahía de Banderas and Puerto Vallarta. Other key initiatives include:
- Wixárika Handcrafted Pathways: A project designed to honor and empower indigenous craftsmanship.
- Coastal Aqueduct: Ensuring quality water access for the coastal communities of Nayarit.

“The year 2025 will be a banner year for progress in Nayarit and throughout Mexico. With unity, principles, and a commitment to democracy, we will continue to grow and thrive as a nation,” President Sheinbaum affirmed.
